Week 37

Here are some highlights from the week... On Thursday, we had Ms. Pawol's mom come visit Stephenson. She brought all of the entomologists their own study vials for a ladybug hunt! She also gave each student their own box of crayons and a ladybug pencil. There's nothing better than a fresh new box of crayons, and to celebrate we read one of my favorite books, "The Day the Crayons Quit." Hopefully the first graders can keep all of their crayons happy! The entomologists have gotten to see the complete metamorphosis of their meal worm larvae! Some students now have darkling beetles crawling around in their study vials :) Our farms are filled with goats, sheep, cows, pigs, chickens and horses! To calculate their payments, the mathematicians have been adding double digit numbers together. They have been breaking the numbers apart into tens and ones and adding them back together.
